CERT Communicators Home Page

This page is dedicated to information of special interest to CERT
communicators and ham radio fans.

HB CERT Communicators are a group of licensed hams
who want to help their surrounding neighborhoods in times of need
by providing whatever communications services might be needed. These
dedicated individuals will serve as the link between the official
RACES role in the City's disaster
plan and the local neighborhood CERT command teams. CERT Communicators
will work on a separate frequency from RACES to keep their channels
clear for higher priority traffic.
In addition, some communicators with even additional training have
been awarded the title of "Certified CERT Communicator". These people
have approval to be on the RACES net when needed and will funnel appropriate
traffic between a neighborhood CERT to the EOC and back.
The HB CERT Communicators leader (John W6SIN) would like to invite
all those interested to monitor the HB CERT Communicator Net the first
Wednesday of every month for official HB CERT Communicator checkin.
The official checkin starts at 7:30PM for on RACES channel 1; backup
Boeing Repeater.
On every Wednesday evening besides that first one, there is an informal
checkin as well. This provides time for practice and also discussion
of various items which may concern CERT Communicators. This informal
checkin occurs at 7:30 PM on the same frequency. |
